In this comic book action adventure, a group of superheroes, played by an all-star cast, tries to stop their villainous counterparts from destroying the world’s political leaders. With astonishing special effects and a fun story, this is a great genre flick with plenty of irreverent humor to go around.

Derek Luke and Denzel Washingon costar in this autobiographical picture about a young sailor troubled by his childhood of abuse and the psychiatrist trying to unearth the reasons behind his violent outbursts. In the course of their sessions, Antwone (Luke) considers the doctor’s (Washington) advice about finding his family.

Grade: B+.

This engrossing superhero TV series returns with a few plot twists, with lots of adventure, betrayal, and characters with ambiguous motives and morality. With believable acting, exciting thrills, and fantastic writing, this engaging series has it all — unlikely alliances, heroes with strange powers, and lots of head-scratching story arcs.

Grade: A.

In Roswell, the three aliens, Max, Isabel, and Michael, are joined by a fourth, Tess, in this exceptional science fiction drama series. With a small group of human friends, Liz, Maria, Sheriff Valenti, and Kyle, they try to unravel their history, maintain their secrecy, evade the FBI, and manage relationships.

Joss Whedon brings back the entire cast of Firefly for this space Western that delivers an amazing thrill ride, jaw-dropping fight sequences, a cast with perfect chemistry, a menacing villain, bloodthirsty Reavers, the kind of humor Whedon is known for, and a seemingly insurmountable set of obstacles to overcome.

Grade: A+.

With great writing and undeniable chemistry between cast members, this science fiction drama is well worth watching.

George Clooney stars in this strange comedy about a group of soldiers trained as psychic spies by the Army. Ewan MacGregor unearths their secrets as an embedded reporter on this unfathomable quest. This picture pokes fun at itself, hippies, the Army, war, and the media, without taking anything too seriously.

This space travel series chronicles the travels of eight astronauts in 2052 as they take a grand tour of the solar system aboard the Antares. Although sadly cancelled shortly into its first season, this series is well worth watching, with good writing, believable acting, wonderful special effects, and mysterious forces.

A group of former gangsters botch an action ordered by the Man with the Plan (Christopher Walken), due to the uncontrollable temper of the dumbest of them. The leader of the group, Jimmy the Saint (Andy Garcia), the smoothest guy ever, tries to help the others evade their impending punishments.

Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a precrime division detective in 2054 Washington in this science fiction thriller, based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. His job is to stop murders moments before they happen. This action picture is full of intrigue, amazing special effects, and solid acting performances.
