Four separate stories converge in this dark crime drama inspired by an ancient Chinese proverb. The four stories include that of a desperate bank employee (Forest Whitaker), an insightful enforcer (Brendan Fraser), a sad pop starlet (Sarah Michelle Gellar), a smitten doctor (Kevin Bacon), and a ruthless mobster (Andy Garcia).
