This collection of tech house tracks features two disks, one of them a continuously mixed DJ set with a few strange voiceovers and samples, and the other an unmixed DJ-friendly disk with the same tracks. The music here is spaced out and hypnotic, a solid group of bumping gems.
AllMusic: Âme — Coast 2 Coast.

In this DJ set from 1999, Eddie Amador puts together a relaxed mix of funky house music grooves, including a few vocal tracks. Some of the transitions here are a little abrupt and some of the remixes are dated, but this collection is a nice background for driving or working.

Harvey Keitel and Kate Winslet star in this ridiculous drama about a cult deprogrammer who accepts a contract to break a young woman away from a spiritual guru. Aside from obviously gratuitous nudity with which Winslet’s Ruth tests her sexual power against PJ (Keitel), there’s no reason to rent this.
IMDB: Holy Smoke.

In this screen adaptation of the Carson McCullers novella, Vanessa Redgrave plays Miss Amelia, a destitute shopkeeper in rural Georgia, whose hunchbacked cousin and ex-husband both suddenly appear in her life. This cacophonous picture is steeped in Southern music and culture, but mostly comes off as a goofy mess.
IMDB: The Ballad of the Sad Café.

Nick Twisp, a dorky teenager from Oakland, meets pretty young Sheeni, falls for her, invents a swashbuckling alter-ego named François, and journeys across California to find her. Michael Cera is funny as Nick and the supporting cast is talented, although the frequently aimless script seems written just for Cera.
IMDB: Youth in Revolt.
