A group of hot young Australians are conveniently away on from their small hometown on a camping trip when a large hostile military force invades their country. This goofy, juvenile war fantasy takes its entire playbook from Red Dawn. It was far better the first time around in the eighties.

Billy Crudup stars in this sleepy road trip drama as Cal, an unlikeable Manhattan architect who bails on his son’s third birthday to drink, chase skirt, and eventually seek out his long-lost father. Despite a talented cast and wonderful cinematography, this character study takes too long to get moving.
IMDB: World Traveler.

This small independent drama about two former classmates–one a liberal activist and the other a conservative Republican–brings plenty of sexual tension between the two leads on opposite sides of the political divide against the backdrop of the Republican Convention in New York but fumbles a clunky infuriating ending.

Sam Jaeger is Thom, an unlicensed cab driver in New York, who gets evicted right as troubled Claire, played by Sam’s wife, Amber, solicits a ride to California to see her estranged father. This slow-paced character drama tells a beautiful, funny, enjoyable story and was quite a pleasant surprise.

Michael (Joseph Fiennes), an ex-cop, turns his obsession with the Darwin Awards to figuring out the victims and trying to prevent more stupid deaths. He teams up with Siri (Winona Ryder), an insurance specialist, to investigate these stories. Creative reenactment of urban legends almost makes this irreverent comedy worthwhile.
